January 4, 2001

After a year of both private and public testing, the first non-beta version of SpecsIntact 3 (version 0.252)  was released by the SpecsIntact development team.  The software incorporates the new WordSpec 2 as an alternative editor.

January 11, 2001

The following Advance Notice of Guide Specifications System Change was supplied to SpecsIntact by USACE and NAVFAC:  

"The Military Services plan to implement a new guide specification system in March 2001.  The new system will be available from the Military Services web sites about 25 March 2001 and on CCB disk Number  56.

The new system has the name Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) and will replace the current construction guide specifications of the Army Corps of Engineers, the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, and the Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency.

This action is in accordance with House Conference Report 105-247 requiring unified design guidance for the Tri-Services."

January 22, 2001

SpecsIntact 3.0.257 was released by the development team for download and for release on CCB disc #55.

February 27, 2001

SpecsIntact 3.0.260 was released by the development team for download.  

March 19, 2001

The Kennedy Space Center's new phone system was implemented in the SpecsIntact Technical Support office, changing how calls are routed.  The Support phone number -- (321) 867-8800 -- has not changed.  For more information on how the new system works, see the special notice on the Support page of this web site.

March 30, 2001

Updated NASA Masters were released on the Masters page.

April 5, 2001

SpecsIntact 3.1.282 was released by the development team for download.  This was the first version of the software capable of using the UFGS Masters. 

April 20, 2001

SpecsIntact 3.1.290 was released by the development team for download and for release on CCB disc #56.  This version of the software is capable of using the UFGS Masters. 

May 2-3, 2001

The SPECSINTACT Interagency Configuration Control and Coordinating Board, made up of representatives from NASA, NAVFAC and USACE, met in Washington, DC.  The Board convenes regularly to review requests for changes in the software and set the priorities and direction for the design of the system.  See the SI-CCCB meeting minutes. 

May 11, 2001

Updated NASA/KSC Masters were released on the Masters page.

May 23-24, 2001

The NASA SPECSINTACT Interagency Configuration Control and Coordinating Board, made up of representatives from most NASA centers, met May 23-24 in Huntsville, AL.  The  board meets regularly to consider changes to the NASA Construction Guide Specifications (Master Text).  See the NS-CCCB meeting minutes.

June 7, 2001

SpecsIntact 3.1.302 was released by the development team for download.  

July 30, 2001

SpecsIntact 3.1.312 was released by the development team for download and for release on CCB disc #57.  

October 4 , 2001

SpecsIntact 3.1.325 was released by the development team for download.   

October 23, 2001

SpecsIntact 3.1.328 was released by the development team for download and for release on CCB disc #58.

November 14-15, 2001

Information was posted regarding the use of CCB disc #58 for loading SpecsIntact with details for obtaining a replacment disc.

December 26, 2001

The new SpecsIntact web site was launched.
