This command allows you to insert new Tailoring Options, or remove an individual instance of an existing one in a Section.
Tailoring Options are designed to make specification editing easier by providing a method for pre-editing information that has been marked with Tailoring tags < TAI> by the Master specification writer. This provides the specification editor with the ability to included or excluded these portions in their entirety, thereby eliminating requirements that do not pertain to the Job without editing each occurrence manually from the text.
You can use this command to:
Add Tailoring Options – In general, only the writers of Masters will add Tailoring Options to a Section, thereby providing Job editors with the ability to tailor the Section by removing one or more of the options. To insert a Tailoring Option, you must first select the text you want the tags to surround, then choose this command. You will be prompted to name the new option or choose from existing options. To add multiple options from the list box, hold either the CTRL (Control) or Shift key while clicking the options you want to add. The CTRL key will allow you to select various options while skipping others. The Shift key will allow you to select a list of options by clicking the first and last you want to select. After clicking the OK button, the text you selected will then be surrounded the <TAI> tags.
Remove Tailoring Options – This function is used to remove individual instances of Tailoring Options. Place your cursor within the text contained between the Tailoring tags, then choose this command to remove both the text and the <TAI> tags (if there are no remaining Options within the tags) for that one occurrence. Other instances of the same Tailoring Option in the Section will remain.
Do not include commas in Tailoring Options, since commas define multiple Options (for instance, "PIPES, COPPER" would create two Tailoring Options: PIPES and COPPER).
