This command can be executed from the SI Explorer's Section Templates Menu.

 

Allows the user to copy the selected Section Template to either have a copy or use as a guideline for creating a custom template by assigning a new name and  Working Directory .  

 

Illustration Icon Indicating CautionIf the UFGS Template is copied to create a unique or custom template, the BannerFound at the beginning of each section; defines important specification information, such as the Section Number and Section Date, Superseding Section Number and Date and the Preparing Activity. must be updated to replace UFGS specific information with the Center, Region, District or AE Firm specific information.

Template Name

The template name identifies the template in the SpecsIntact Explorer and Windows Explorer or File Explorer and may contain up to 50 characters or spaces.

Copy To Working Directory

Allows you to copy the a Section Template to the default Working Directory path or select a different Working Directories displayed in the drop-down box, if they are selected in the Setup > Working Directories dialog box.

Copy To Master

Allows you to copy the a Section Template to the default Master or select a different Master displayed in the drop-down box, if they are selected in the Setup > Connect Masters dialog box.

To Copy a Section Template to Working Directory:

  1. From the SpecsIntact Explorer, select the Tools Menu

  2. From the Section TemplatesA Template is an outline that provides examples of how text should be entered in SpecsIntact format when creating a new Section. dialog box, highlight the Template you wish to copy and select the Copy button

  3. From the Copy Section dialog box, enter a name in the Template Name field

  4. Choose to Copy to Working Directory

  5. Leave the default selection or select the drop-down arrow to choose a different Working Directory

  6. Select OK

To Copy a Section Template to Master:

  1. From the SpecsIntact Explorer, select the Tools Menu

  2. From the Section TemplatesA Template is an outline that provides examples of how text should be entered in SpecsIntact format when creating a new Section. dialog box, highlight the Template you wish to copy and select the Copy button

  3. From the Copy Section dialog box, enter a name in the Template Name field

  4. Choose to Copy to Master

  5. Leave the default selection or select the drop-down arrow to choose a different Master

  6. Select OK
