SI Explorer Tools Menu - SI Document Templates

 

 

 

This command can be executed from the SI Explorer's Tools Menu or keyboard shortcut Ctrl+D.

 

SI Document TemplatesA Template is an outline that provides examples of how text should be entered in SpecsIntact format when creating a new Section. are blank documents used to a create cover sheets, sign-off sheet, project information sheet or other unique documents to be used with specifications in multiple Jobs.

Add

Adds the selected SI Document Template to the active Job or Master..

New

Opens the New SI Document Template dialog box where you can designate a Name,Title and Working Directory for the new template.

Edit

Opens the selected template in the SI Editor, so you can edit and save the template.

Copy

Makes a copy of the selected template by giving it a name and assigning a Working Directory.

Delete

Deletes the selected template.

 

You can right-clickTo press the right button of a mouse and release it to open a menu on a Document Template to either Rename the template or open the Template in Windows Explorer or File Explorer .

 

Standard Windows Commands

The Cancel Button will close the dialog box without recording any selections or changes entered.

 

The Help Button will open the Help Topic for this dialog box.

 

Using This Feature

To create a New SI Document Template:

1. From the SpecsIntact Explorer, select the Tools Menu

2. From the SI Document Templates dialog box, select the New button

3. Below Template, enter a Name and Title

4. Either leave the current Working Directory or select the drop-down arrow to choose a new one

5. Select OK

To Edit an existing SI Document Template:

1. From the SpecsIntact Explorer, select the Tools Menu

2. From the SI Document Templates dialog box, either double-clickIs a familiar mouse function in Windows applications Executes the function associated with that object, such as such as opening a file. on the SI Document Template or highlight the Template and select the Edit button to open the template in SI Editor

3. From the SI Editor, make the necessary edits

4. Save and Close the SI Editor
